There is a wide variety of Hubzilla plugins available for customisation.
These include articles, wikis and web pages.
I'm still wondering whether it's worth experimenting with them for my Hubzilla channel. For now, it is probably better to stick with the social aspect of my channel.

@prealpinux (Hubzilla) I think this is the most attractive part of Hubzilla for my own part. That is is extensible, and you can essentially build the service that you want it to be.

Only you can know what the right setup for you is :)

Personally I use the wiki quite a bit, but haven't really seen the need for articles. The webpage app could be useful if someone were to give it some love, but for now I don't see a need for it for myself.

I think the gallery app really improves how images are presented, not only in the galleries themselves, but in the stream as well.

@prealpinux (Hubzilla) I'm one of those who saw value in using some of the other features of Hubzilla. Using "Articles" for a blog, with maybe links placed in the timeline, means that you can update the articles at will, and later change the privacy controls as you like (privacy controls cannot be redefined in the timeline). I used "Cards" as a place to gather linksas, unlike Hubzilla "Bookmarks", you can add several related links to the same card, and previews and commentary. In "Photos", you can create albums, and could have a separate channel to share with family members via a guest link. In "Wikis" I made several wikis, such as on books and movies. And I've experimented with the website feature to make a static website (but did not use Hubzilla's native webpage templating system). Other people have done much more. Everything can be cloned to another server for backup and security. Nowadays, since losing my own Hubzilla instance when K&T Host went dark, I do not feel as safe in using Hubzilla's more advanced features, so, like you, I am using it mostly for social media and have moved my blogging, photo collection and wikis outside of Hubzilla. But the potential is there.
